As a university-qualified translator from English and French into German, I ensure that my translations are of the highest possible quality. I am also a publicly appointed translator, offering certified or ‘sworn’ translations of official documents.

Thanks to my 28 years of experience, I know exactly what factors need to be considered in the sectors in which I work and the things that my clients care about.

I work only in the fields I am familiar with, keeping my knowledge fully up to date by means of online research, consultation of specialist literature and continuous professional development. My main translation specialisms are financial texts, commercial texts and legal texts.

Delivery on time

Even the best translation is of no use to the client if it’s delivered too late. When you work with me, you can rest assured that you’ll receive your translation by the agreed delivery date.

Confidentiality

As a matter of course, I treat your documentation with the utmost confidentiality. As a member of the BDÜ (the Federal Association of Interpreters and Translators), the largest professional association for interpreters and translators in Germany and Europe, I am bound by the BDÜ’s Code of Professional Conduct.

State-of-the-art CAT tools

I use state-of-the-art CAT (computer-assisted translation) tools such as SDL Trados Studio and memoQ on a daily basis, ensuring higher levels of efficiency and consistent translations.

Machine translation post-editing (MTPE)

Thanks to the latest developments in artificial intelligence (AI) technology, the quality of machine translation is improving at an exponential rate.

Nonetheless, to ensure a high-quality end product it is vital that any machine-translated texts are thoroughly proofread and revised by a professional translator.

Known as ‘machine translation post-editing’ (MTPE), this revision process is designed to optimise the quality of the translation involved with regard to the following factors:

• context
• grammar and spelling
• style
• terminology.
